I WILL walk 60 miles for Breast Cancer, with your support! Anastasia

This June 14-16 will find me doing my first walk for anything! I'll be walking from Kenosha, WI to Chicago, 60 miles.

I'm walking in the hope that my 3 beautiful daughters,(and daughters, sisters, mothers, and men, everywhere) will not have to go through what I did 2 years ago.

I was fortunate. I was detected early, and within two months had a mastectomy and reconstruction. I miss my body the way it was sometimes. I had just learned to appreciate it. But I do not regret my choice of a cancer "cure".

I have yet to join a support group or to even consider myself as a survivor since my solution was to cut it out. I don't regret it but I do feel like I've cheated somehow. You know, no chemo, no radiation, no struggle. So when I saw the AD for the walk, I knew I had to do this.

This will be rough for me as I only have less than 4 months to train and I've just started. Wish me well.

I'm walking so that others might not have to make that choice-because we've found a cure or less invasive approaches.

I'm walking so that others might not die, like my friend who waited too long to deal with it.

I'm walking to raise awareness of the tragedy of Breast Cancer and the toll it takes on people, principally women, and their loved ones daily.

We can win! Together, we can do just about anything!

Will you walk with me by supporting me with your generous contribution to fight this common foe? Your donation is fully tax-deductible. You can use the pledge form to charge it to your credit card or to make installment payments, spread over time.

In deciding how much to donate to this very worthy cause, think on this. Each participant pays a registration fee, buys much equipment and pays for travel and hotel rooms at their own expense, WILLINGLY!! Add to that the time and effort they put into training and how far we all will attempt to walk-60 miles in 3 days. Our committment is high. I pray yours will be, too.

Please sign my guestbook and feel free to email me with encouragement, insights (it is, afterall, my FIRST EVER walk), suggestions or just to share stories.

Thank you and God bless you and all who support this endeavor.
